CoaChamp is a personal coaching app for golf, tennis, pádel, ski, running, cycling, Wing Foil, football, rugby and hockey athletes. This page explains what data we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
What we collect
- Account info: email address (for authentication) and any name, nickname, age, country, or club you choose to enter on your profile.
- Sport data you create: rounds, matches, training notes, photos and voice notes you attach, goals, opponents, equipment.
- Coach conversations: the text and voice messages you exchange with the AI coaches inside the app.
- Location: only while you have a round or session open, and only if you grant it. Used to work out which course and hole you are on, and to place a green scan on the right hole. Off by default and revocable in your device settings.
- Device data for push notifications: push subscription tokens (only if you opt in to notifications).
- Standard web logs: IP address and basic request metadata kept by our infrastructure providers for security and abuse prevention.
How we use it
- To deliver coaching: your profile, history, and conversations are passed as context to the AI models so the coaches can give you personalized advice.
- To send you notifications you have opted in to (daily cards, match reminders).
- To compute stats and progress charts inside the app.
- To debug, improve the product, and prevent abuse.
We do not sell your data, share it with advertisers, or use it to train third-party models.
Third parties we use
- Anthropic — powers the AI coaches. Conversation context is sent to Anthropic’s API per their privacy policy. Anthropic does not train on API data by default.
- OpenAI — used for voice transcription (Whisper) and optional realtime voice. Subject to OpenAI’s privacy policy.
- Supabase — database, authentication, and file storage for your account and data.
- Vercel — application hosting and infrastructure.
- Spotify — looks up the song recommendations in your debriefs. Only the song title and artist are sent; no personal data.
- Apple Music — if you connect it, so your soundtrack plays from your own library. Handled by Apple under their privacy policy.
- Google — satellite tiles used to draw course maps. Your location is never sent to Google.
Friends and sharing
You can connect with other athletes as friends. Adding one starts sharing some of your activity with them — the list below says exactly which, and every part of it is yours to change.
- Your coach conversations are never shared. They are private to you, and no friend, opponent, or other user can see them.
- Competitive results and sessions are shared with the friends you add, by default. That is rounds, matches, ski days and water sessions. Training data — runs and rides, gym, practice — is off until you turn it on.
- You choose what a friend sees, category by category, from your sharing settings. Every category has its own switch, and you can turn any of them off at any time.
- One tap pauses everything. The master pause stops all sharing at once, without notifying anyone, and turning it back on restores exactly the settings you had.
- There is no public feed. A friend’s activity is visible only to people they have connected with and chosen to share it with. Strangers cannot browse you.
- You can block a friend at any time, which removes them from your list and stops any sharing in both directions.
Club handicap connections
- Your club password stays on your phone. If you connect your club’s handicap site (today, CUBA’s Golfistics portal), the CoaChamp app signs in to it from your phone. Your club username and password are kept only in your phone’s secure storage (the iOS Keychain or the Android Keystore), tied to your CoaChamp account and to that device. They are never sent to CoaChamp.
- Only your handicap history and scorecards reach CoaChamp. They are saved to your account like the rest of your rounds.
- Disconnecting deletes the password from your phone, as does removing the club from your clubs.
- Your official index is looked up with your matrícula and surname. No password is involved.
Your rights
You can:
- Edit any of your profile, rounds, matches, or notes inside the app at any time.
- Disable push notifications from the in-app settings.
- Delete your account permanently from your profile page→ Danger zone → Delete my account. This removes all your rounds, matches, chat history, debriefs, notifications, and the underlying auth account.
- Email us at hello@coachamp.app for any data request that the in-app controls don’t cover.
Children
CoaChamp is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us data, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes
We may update this policy. The “last updated” date at the top will change. Material changes will be communicated in-app.
